Click Fashion Studio and Hypo Alpe Adria Fashion Week bring good mood to people of Belgrade and their guests and this autumn too.
All participants will bravely step on the catwalk to establish balance with the catwalk of transition, to make every day life in Serbia prettier, more creative alike the one on a model catwalk.
For years now October in Belgrade is reserved for one of the most important fashion events in our country. All fashion fans will be able to enjoy 18th Hypo Alpe Adria Fashion Week from October 23th to 29th. Autumn edition of Fashion Week brings a lot of opportunities as well as challenges to its participants. For those who gained its reputation on previous Fashion Weeks to demonstrate if they maintained already reached level. For fashion companies to strengthen their position at domestic fashion market. For young talents to demonstrate their uniqueness. For all together to make Belgrade fashion capital such as Paris or London, at least for a week.
During seven days of Belgrade Fashion Week, local fashion audience and journalists will have opportunity to enjoy and judge creativity of domestic and foreign designers. Right from the London Fashion Week to Belgrade's one Roksanda Ilincic is coming, the spirit of Portugal will be brought by Aleksandar Protic, once our best young designer. The oldest fashion company Revillon from France is coming also with the collection by prestigious designer Rick Owens. His collection will be presented in the French Embassy. And this is not just a chance meeting. Ten years ago Mr. Nenad Radujevic, director of Click Fashion Studio, attended pret-a-porter in Paris, thanks to the French Embassy and French Cultural Center. There he got the idea to establish Belgrade Fashion Week.
Colors of Italy at the 18th Hypo Alpe Adria Fashion Week will be defended by Sorbino fashion company but also Ateks which (after successful privatization) represents Italian fashion through three lines: Spaces, Studio It, and Moda Mi. A well known underwear manufacturer - Minerva - is coming from Greece with the new program and both sexes are trying to get extra ticket.
Domestic fashion companies, although with no working conditions as foreign ones, don't get tired from challenges and difficulties of transition. Todor with its designers Predrag Neric and Sneana Plazinic will open 18th Hypo Alpe Adria Fashion Week. Ana magazine will celebrate 20 years of work with fashion show of Centrotextil collection which was designed by Bata Spasojevic. Zekstra fashion company will present new tendencies for fall/winter season with its designer Saša Vidic but also through collections of Max Mara and Deisel brands which are represented by Zekstra at our market.
Students from the Faculty of Applied Arts about to take the final examination for the degree in the class of professor Doda Komad are always impatient to give their autumn show. A chance to make their dreams come true will be given to young designers who are traditionally presented within New Tendencies program which is again sponsored by Puma. Their role models will be slightly more experienced Stevancevic sisters, always great Boris Nikolic and unavoidable Darko Kostic. Controversial OOOPS once again offers an interesting presentation of collection which will be as usual enjoyed mostly by representatives of stronger sex. But, both, ladies as well as gentlemen will want to leave always attractive fashion show of Laki Line, in recognizable, comfortable and modern footwear, designed by Italian designer Gian Pietro Papa.
The most important festival of fashion and creativity in our country is again under patronage of Belgrade City Hall and Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Services.
Beograd InterContinental Hotel traditionally will be good host to all fans of fine things and fashion business. For the second time in row we will enjoy the beautiful environment of Genex Impuls Hall which makes you feel like in Milan or New York while you attend Belgrade Fashion Week.
Fashion Week goes back to Student Cultural Center which offers countless opportunities for designers to play creative games with its architecture. Closing will be held at the place absolutely appropriate for this kind of manifestation - on the top of the last floor of Ušce Business Center !!!
Irreproachable and trendy look of the models of the autumn edition of Fashion Week this time also is the care of Max Faktor and Redken, and Nektar juices and always fast and modern Opel always support Fashion Week.
Aside traditional exhibition of fashion asseccories we'll have opportunity to see exhibition of modern jewelery by Gordana Perencevic and works of the students from Faculty of Fine Arts. P&G Beauty will present International trend report.
Is there a need to say that only the best and the most courage dare to run on the Fashion Week catwalk in this harsh economic times? The catwalk that begins in Belgrade and ends up in Europe where all progressive people gravitate.
This autumn the black is trend again. Let's demonstrate that good mood goes perfectly well with the black.
Welcome to 18th Hypo Alpe Adria Fashion Week.
IMPRESSIONS
Marina Kosanović– Stefanović, chief editor of ELLE magazine, Serbia/Montenegro edition
Impressions are still very fresh. What I surely can say is that the greatest achievement of Fashion Week is continuity all these years. Next year we'll have the 20th edition of it. The fact that FW last almost ten years speaks for itself. Why? Cause it was launched in a very complex period which is difficult for whole country, let alone fashion scene. Ups and downs it experienced are natural, but I believe it's extremely important for this town fashion and cultural scene if you like to have this manifestation. Luckily, and thanks to organizers, it developed in the most important fashion manifestation not only in this country but in whole region. According what we have seen I dare to ask the crucial question: which direction FW is going to take in the future, 'cause I believe the manifestation is ripe for something bigger. Further, since FW is imagined as manifestation which present the domestic fashion scene I often heard comments like this: “What the hell foreigners are doing here”. I believe it is good that foreigners are here, not only because they bring new ideas and fresh air from the world, but because our designers, no matter how many they are and how big or small they are, thus have chance to see what other designers do. In art, and the fashion is a kind of art, there is no place for better or worse comparison, but that can be something different and I believe it's important to be seen. That's why I think that certain international flavor at Fashion Week is welcomed. So, I root for other people to come, brands, companies, authors, so that we can have one complete fashion picture here.

The organization was perfect as always. Foreigners are usually amazed, 'cause when they come here they are not sure what to expect and than the whole organization is very, very good and looks like magic, 'cause it's done with limited financial sources but at the end everything is just fine. At Revillon fashion show, which was held in the French Embassy, there weren't any problems and people were amazed, 'cause it was like in any other world fashion capital. Compared to Paris which is world scene, here is also interesting, taking in account lack of money here. The closing fashion show at Fashion Week was one very nice event. As for clothes, I like the urban mood of the whole story and it was always present at Fashion Week; we could see it in students' works as well as at new tendencies fashion show. I believe that Revillon fashion show was better here than in Paris, and I heard just the same from the people from this company who were present here in Belgrade. The French Embassy interior is very beautiful. It should be mentioned that the fact Revillon was here is great recommendation for other world designers to come.

I follow Fashion Week closely for years now. In the beginning it looked like a style exercise attempt. This year it turned into one really great manifestation which literally brings us closer to the world. A great creative energy assambled in one place makes us all happier. Fashion Week brings us urban style, the audience purified and now it's one theatrical audience in the best meaning of it. Fashion Week became elite manifestation which no more demonstrate the intention for mere attention attraction. The ideas are pure, models and make-up perfect. In this country where people can't even organize their own lives, the perfect organization of such big and important manifestation is a big plus for Click Fashion Studio. I believe that Belgrade Fashion Week will open the door of the world for us in a right way and bring us even more joy.

It was our pleasure to open the last Fashion Week which demonstrates outstanding development, year by year, both as a manifestation itself and domestic fashion industry. I would like to single out and praise fashion shows of young designers from the Faculty of Applied Arts who showed good ideas and imagination above all. I believe those ideas of young, creative people should be supported and invested in. The idea of Todor fashion company is to broaden its creative team with around dozen such personnels who will be inexhaustible source of new ideas. They will create even more recognizable style identity on the market.

The fact is that Fashion Week speeded up and gained weight during last third of it, and when I say that I have in mind the shows of Aleksandar Protic and Roksanda Ilincic, whose work I observe closely over period of time. Their fashion shows absolutely heated the atmosphere up. Maybe I should only add that these two fashion shows demonstrated principle and standard of how fashion shows should be done. However, Boris Nikolic who presented his collection at the beginning of Fashion Week should not be forgotten either. I believe he has done one of the best collections in his entire career. When two our designers from abroad presented their collections as well as Revillon company from Paris, we had opportunity to see what actually means to set real author collection or collection for presentation: absolute work through details, of every jewelry piece, every single accessory. That is good, 'cause it demonstrate us who are here how things should be done and force us to be better. I believe that general impression is that this edition of Fashion Week overcame our expectations 'cause there is something which is necessity of balance between commercialism and author work in Serbia. And that's why I think it was brave from organizers and also very professional to find the best possible proportion. I believe that Fashion Weeks in future will be more open for authors' collections of fashion companies and designers themselves.

The fact that 18th Hypo Alpe Adria Fashion Week was held is a score for itself taking in account the situation in the textile industry which is chronic bad for years now and it's getting worse as it seems. However, taking in account the creativity and enthusiasm of this region and fantastic efforts of organizers and participant, Fashion Week was very ample and it demonstrated the richness of our scene. Maybe there is no mayor difference between this and some previous Fashion Weeks aside names: this time French and Italians came, attached program was very good and it's specially good that P&G Beauty has kept excellent International Trend Report lecture (though maybe it would be better to put it at the beginning of FW so that it can help people to observe and enjoy FW in a better way). I have noticed at Zekstra fashion show that trends were strictly followed, starting from footwear, boots, shoes, stockings up to hairstyles. Within Zekstra there was Max Mara, traditionally trendy. Each Fashion Week, among other things, brings new conditions for fashion shows, that is, new spaces. Last year it was Yugoslav Drama Theater, last spring Impuls Genex Hall, and this time it was Ušce Business Center and French Embassy. I can say that Fashion Week met our expectations this time also.

Ivan Radojčić, fashion editor of MEN’S HEALTH magazine
This Fashion Week was completely consistent and in terms of tendencies the most progressive so far. Therefore I could cite that collections of Boris Nikolic, Roksanda Ilincic, Aleksanda Protic, Stevancevic sisters, Darko Kostic and Iva Stefanovic were the ones that fashion workers were delighted by the most. I believe that every one of them has its own legitimate place within Serbian fashion scene and not only as we could see. It was interesting for me to see how all that works together as a general impression. What is really great when it comes to Click Fashion Studio is that it always brings us guests from abroad who in turn bring new tendencies from the most important fashion centers. Thus Revillon fashion show was a real refreshment for all of us here in Belgrade. Also commercial fashion shows should not be forgotten – Zekstra, Centrotextil, Ateks, Max Mara, Diesel, Sorbino, Minerva, Laki Line ... Those fashion shows demonstrate the present state of Serbian fashion scene, which is, as it seems to me, cheerful and promising. Let us not forget that this year we also had excellent attached programs so any future Fashion Week should insist as much as possible on those programs which correspond in best way with things abroad. All together each Fashion Week is like catharsis, and we all look forward for the next one.

In general, my opinion is that this Fashion Week passed in excellent combination of authors' collections and commercial presentations, as was the case previous years. Click Fashion Studio together with designers surprised us pleasantly with brand new fashion shows venues, such as this one at the top of Ušce palace, which is really great. As for me, Roksande Ilincic is the absolute impression of this Fashion Week, because she demonstrated how the things are doing abroad and how one fashion show should be done, from the beginning untill the end which means: paying attention on all details, from model construction, make-up to choice of models. Therefore, it's a completely new way of thinking, very typical for London and what is good for us is to have a certain repper every year which can we relate to and which can be of use for young designers and their future collections. It's that combination of domestic designers and those from abroad that makes Fashion Week unique. In the future Fashion Week should be more involved with authors' collections and of course, young authors should be supported every season. In that regard from this Fashion Week I would like to single out collection of Ana Ljubinkovic and students of professor Doda Komad.

I believe Nenad Radujević made a great shift here regarding Fashion Week organization and has awaken domestic public which is into aesthetic and fashion trends. At the time of Fashion Week beginnings, and it was nine years ago, it was merely a ray of light at the end of a dark tunnel, noone could predict such development, in a way it was considered as folklore in those dark times. It turned out Fashion Week not only keeps certain level but also is advancing all the time.
