The program of the fourth Fashion Week night brought New Tendencies to Belgrade's audience within which Marina Milovanović, Ana Grebec, Tijana and Mila Popović and Svetlana Trifunović have showed their ideas for this season. After them the stage was taken over by recognizable Nataša Šarić and Vesna Matijević. The night ended with Avanguardia group fashion show of renown world's brands - Merrell, Kowalski, Quick, Paradise Callling, Kenvelo, Tommy Hilfiger and Indian Rose.

“To be honest I expected much more form New Tendencies. I regret they didn't learn well the first lesson from the Faculty of Applied Arts which is – when you make a collection every model has to look like a collection, one item should be alike another, to have the story from the beginning until the end when it comes to materials, colors, cuts. No one respected that rule tonight but I expected at least they would be inventive enough and if they don't stick to the story than they will have some ingenious solutions instead, simply because the market doesn't limit them. And maybe that's why I feel disappointed tonight. None of these four designers made collection but something that looks more like styling.
The most interesting in New Tendencies was Svetlana Trifunović. Her fashion show was the most humorous and the most charming to me. She wasn't consistent from the beginning until the end, but one definitely can see some kind of stamp. From New Tendencies I always expect to see something new, fresh, some new solutions, something not limited by markets and demands. I expect something inventive but still wearable. Performance the students performed on Tuesday was not wearable but all was completely amazing, consistent, one can see that they knew all the time what they wanted to make. It is important to me that someone is consistent even if he/she is boring or trashy but to be his/hers.
As for Vesna Matijević I can say she made a good and consistent collection. I liked that she used only three or four colors. Black and white which are very trendy now, gold and green and that's it. Absolutely correct from the beginning until the end. I would be very happy if working women in Serbia in their thirties wear clothing according Vesna's ideas. There were few excellent items. Although this is her first independent collection I have to say she stayed consistent to herself, she didn't romped and she made one commercial and wearable collection. All is in the right place.
Nataša Šarić is completely fabulous. One can see the totally dedicated woman behind every single item. All is done in a very intelligent way, with clear idea from the beginning until the end and she is so recognizable and on her own that I am amazed over and over again. Maybe styling was a bit stressed tonight so that it seems too complicated for making combinations to people but every single item is absolutely wearable. I specially liked one shirt with pleated sleeves and slit on the back. There were some excellent skirts and dresses too. I liked Nataša's collection very much.
I like Avanguardia, specially Indian Rose collection. I think it's very likable for young people. Kowalski footwear was great. Although I don't like to see fashion shows of foreign brands because I am always bored, Avanguardia is super fashion company to me. It was interesting, joyful and youthful. Although I prefer authors' fashion shows this tonight was pretty relaxing.

They Said About New Tendencies Fashion Show

We have seen four collections and in all of them there were some things already seen but also some things we've never seen before. So, all together could be assigned to New Tendencies category. It is interesting that people are free to enter new innovations, to look for new solutions, to try to present some completely new images that are not so acceptable to the broad public. What was the most interesting for me and what I would single out is certainly the last show by Svetlana Trifunović. I liked her the most within the story related to innovations. Though many of those things already exist in some of the trends, I liked the way she interpreted them, and in my opinion that was the best we saw tonight. Saying this I don't expel other authors who presented something that is certainly worth of attention. New Tendencies in the terms of creativity should be something leading in the fashion. What new tendencies can bring maybe is not new trend but it could be new approach. It would be good that people from ready to wear industry recognize some details that could make their products more interesting and receptive.

Young designers have left an excellent impression. Puma traditionally supports New Tendencies. There is always something new within New Tendencies that give us elan and ideas for further work. I am glad that I have seen many original things here since it is similar to Puma's approach to things.

Every year young designers get honorable place within Fashion Week so that they can present their collections. In my opinion Marina Milovanović has a good idea, corsets as basic motive which she used to make variations on blouse or dress. Ana Grebec had very nice presentation which was opened by one naive girl, her inspiration from Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale who, as the fashion show goes one, turns to be one beautiful woman. I liked the way she composed all elements, specially those black and red combinations with the details in the same color. Popović sisters opened the show with the variations of the skirt which could be worn as a skirt that goes great with various T-shirts, as a some kind of daytime style, or as a skirt which transforms into a dress of specially interesting forms, maybe for the young girls and their prom night. Svetlana Trifunović was the most interesting for me since she used various materials, she draped and combined them well which resulted in interesting models at the end. I found some special romantic charm in her models. In general, the conclusion is that the designers of all four fashion shows were playing with the cuts as well as with materials and I think we witnessed one successful presentation.

For me the most interesting are the fashion shows of young designers within every Fashion Week. No matter if they still study or they have just entered the independent fashion world. Every time I see some interesting ideas. For most of the people this is too eccentric and unusual, which is understandable since everyone sticks to the pattern of the conventional dressing. This is good index which direction those young people move and in which direction they want their ideas to be developed. During the second fashion show by Ana Grebec I was thinking about how great she would be for stage costumes. But other designers too maybe have in mind that they need a certain level of eccentricity for the first presentation in order to be noticed and than later they can modify and put their ideas into realization. How much that is acceptable for me says the fact that I found at least one item that I would like to have from all four designers.

Young people are usually expected to be more inventive. They are less established so they incline more to experiment. It was interesting that some decided to be eclectic and to combine different styles while others sticked consistently to their style but still “recycling” some ideals. For example, Redocholic collection was very interesting because the designer sticked to the myths of Lolita and Little Red Riding Hood, there were Toulouse Lautrec and impressionism too and I think collection was executed in a consistent way. One concept was conducted through all models including “wolf” with the cutlery. That is interesting and as a performance too and in general collection looks the most coherent and it is distinguished by its concept. The last collection is irresistibly charming to me. There is something I don't find in established fashion shows and that is tenderness. I was moved by that. It was open and as it seems the most emotional. The inventiveness of collection itself combined with tenderness is obvious through charmingly forged title. She was also consistent with her concept of soft extravagance, charm and off-color story of those strawberries with the cream. It was very likable.

The fashion shows of young designers are always interesting to me. I am glad that Puma as a leading fashion and sport brand has been standing behind young designers for years now. Specially if you have in mind how difficult for them is to raise the money in order to be present on a such prestigious manifestation like this one. I don't know what to single out, everything was very good. In my opinion models by Tijana and Mila Popović are very wearable. I liked very much denims by Svetlana Trifunović. In general, I liked very much everything I saw tonight.

I attended many fashion shows and every time I watch fashion shows of several designers my impressions on each of them are completely different which is understandable since at one place you have to deal with completely different approaches to fashion. All four fashion shows were interesting to me. The clothing these young people recommend is both, modern and provocative. Maybe Marina Milovanović was closest to my sensibility but I am pleasantly surprised by all of them and I really enjoyed.

Puma is honored and happy to follow the achievements of our youngest generation of designers every year. Every year we witness their great progress in terms of creativity and the development in their work. What we can see is the openness toward the latest influences when it comes to combinations with the elements which are linked to fashion history. What is up-to-date and we saw on these fashion shows is traditionally successful combination of black and red with the patchworks of intense colors which make the models more transparent. Some of the designers were both bold and successful in transformation and combination of different forms no matter we are already used on surprises and breaking of conventions. I support the openness in communication of our young designers with the world's trends despite difficulties that go along their job. I strongly support the idea of Fashion Week to give the space within its program every year to those who are yet to come.

I think all four fashion shows we saw gave an answer on a given topic – which is new tendencies. As for me, I liked the first fashion show the most, that is the fashion show of Marina Milovanović because I like practical and wearable clothing that could be easily combined with some other items. Aside her I liked the fashion show of Popović sisters. Their models are perfect for some thematic parties and one can really feel the note of London's music scene in their work. That scene used to be rich in incompatible combinations when you see them at the first glance but than when someone wear them in the right way I am impressed. Overall I think we got some styling ideas for the beautiful weather which is about to come.

I regret there are not more fashion shows of young designers within Fashion Week. My first impression is sadness when I see them without possibilities to carry out their ideas which are very fanciful but still very demanding when it comes to materials and production. I specially liked the idea with Little Red Riding Hood and what Ana Grebec showed through her models dominated by red color. I would also single out the styling of Popović's sisters fashion show.

New Tendencies I like the most and I strongly support them. I strongly support young designers so my expectations are always high but mostly fulfilled. The strongest impression for me was the last fashion show because it had a lot of spirit, courage, extravagance, charm and humor, all that I like to see. New Tendencies always lead to new developments. Being so, only young designers can bring new spirit.

Vesna Matijević is great, one can see great experience behind her and it seems to me that she is very aware of the moment and the time she is working in and I think she knows exactly who she addresses to and I am absolutely sure that she will find her customers. Nataša Šarić's fashion show is very interesting, I notice that cuts are very studied and I like her consistency against commercialism. I liked the styling and I am also absolutely sure her models will find their customers too.

It seems to me that Vesna, after fashion shows dominated by reduced constructions, finally wanted to be sex appealing and I think she achieved that in some moments. I like the way she thinks now and the way she is developing as an author. During Nataša's fashion show I was thinking how every item when deconstructed, for example on upper and lower part, I think that lower one is absolutely perfect and sufficient, but she probably couldn't double the coming outs at the catwalk with simple things. Someone may think that all was swamped but I see it as great ideas which should be separated from each other and imagined in life on the streets. Along with skirt of complexed cut which is both skirt and Bermuda shorts goes one common T-shirt and all that can look great. I cheer to what is artistic in her models.

I have to admit that I am pleasantly surprised by Vesna's fashion show since I've been following her work for some time now and this is so far the most interesting fashion show because creations look really exclusive. I am specially glad she finally works on her own. Nataša's fashion show left me speechless. The forms are fabulous and she presented them along excellent music so the whole impression is on the highest level.

For me Vesna Matijević is excellent as usual and we already can recognize her by her style. It is a line which can be taken to the streets right away. As for Nataša she is maybe a bit closed in her models. They are meant for someone who likes experiment and what is artistic in fashion. I travel a lot so I can tell – both fashion shows were organized on the high level and I also cheer to ten years of Fashion Week.

I liked very much the fashion show of Nataša Šarić. One can see the effort invested and also the thinking over inspiration she had. Certain models are great, her total look may be a bit aggressive for some but for me it's the best I have seen so far.

I usually do not attend fashion shows but here I am because I like the work of Vesna Matijević. But I have to say though I am layman when it comes to fashion, I liked the both fashion shows and I think the audience had a lot to see.

I was thrilled by Vesna Matijević's collection. This is something I expected to see – juncture of black and white in absolute harmony with femininity gave a collection that radiates with beauty, has a wearable cut and author's stamp. I wear her models a lot and they are absolutely wearable. It would be pity if this collection doesn't come to life but knowing Vesna it will certainly find its place on Belgrade's streets and maybe not only Belgrade's. As for Nataša Šarić's collection I would say that it's completely unwearable but absolutely reviewable which I also like. I like to see that aspect of fashion shows too because Fashion Week is conceived in that way that we can see both what is wearable and what is fanciful as this fashion show certainly is. What I don't understand speaking in terms of fashion itself is dedication of work to one idea which stayed a mystery to me since unpractical aspect of the models forced my attention to focus on how much one model can be made to be complicated. But as a show it was very successful. My congratulations to her.

Vesna is different, one can see she is not working for a fashion company, that she is more free and that she doesn't have the industry on her back. She would probably continue that direction, she seems to be more relaxed and I think she will be getting better and better. Nataša's is good as always. I like her work very much and what we saw looks to me like a certain tribute to Tesla and mathematic ... that's her style and I think she has all done it well. I think it's pure geometry. She was thinking in a mathematical way and I like that sphere form she tried to implement. It's so like her yet different.

I am glad that Vesna Matijević is finally again on the catwalk since she is designer who rules the ready-to-wear and has a great knowledge, excellent construction and quality production. Vesna always has too much to say through one collection so I think she should be regular at Fashion Weeks. That would be good for her work because when I watch her collections I always have an impression that three collections could be made out of one. That's something I really appreciate since it means a lot of work but from the other hand I think it's a pity that she doesn't “dilute” collection a bit. As someone who closely follow her work sometimes I feel that there is too much material at one place. By showing her things of more often I think her collections would have “more air” to live on. What I always like about her is her professional approach and hard work.
Nataša Šaric has always known how to amaze me by her collections. As far as I follow her work, tonight's collection was a certain progress in the terms of new silhouettes and “new woman” who she showed and who is, at least for me, very feminine and provocative.

Both collections are very nice in their own ways but what I wanted to say has to do with the elements worn by Nataša Šaric's models – doves. Belgrade has finally became aware of itself, aware that it's a unique city with unique people and one can see that almost everywhere, and now even in fashion, in the air, in us ... I already have declared Belgrade for the Fifth Empire. Historically there were four: Oriental, Greek, Roman and German. It is our time now: the Fifth Belgrade Empire. Nataša Šaric is exactly in it. Sensitive people feel that our time has come.

When I asked my students from the Academy is there any sense to be involved in fashion today when so many foreign brands come here, they told me: There is a sense just because of that! I think that after fashion shows of Vesna Matijevic and Nataša Šaric those young people will be very encouraged. If someone is talented enough and educated in a right way, if someone knows what she/he wants from the fashion and if she/he is interested in who her/his potential fashion consumers are, than there is a hope for her/him on the Serbian fashion map in the context of some domestic brands yet to be established. We who follow fashion for so long said to both,
Nataša and Vesna: Welcome back! To Vesna because she came back with an independent fashion show and to Nataša because she made come back after a short break in the terms of fashion shows though we enjoyed her exhibitions meanwhile. It is immediately clear that they know domestic market, that they don't underestimate their audience, that they know all cutting techniques, construction and materials and that they are in touch with current trends in the world. Nataša has found the road that leads to originality of our fashion again even in the context of world's market because this is something that could be recommended and as good export product.

They Said About Avanguardia Fashion Show

The Fashion show was youthful and I liked it a lot, specially Kowalski. Maybe it's too youthful for me but I like that, it makes you feel a bit younger. That's my style. So that one can wear these models which are great and utterly modern one must have body for that, to take care about diet regime and to be physically active and lead healthy life. Models are of good quality and the fashion show very interesting and relaxed just like the clothing itself.

This was one commercial fashion show with few brands that look very equalized because all that is a street, casual manner. It's a youthful fashion which I would also wear though it's not quite according my style but I saw that reactions by young audience was very positive. These models are adapted for the street, of well cuts which follow body lines which is good – the trend for girls is to emphasize waist and body line and boys looked sexy a bit uncovered.

The fashion show was likable, youthful, casual so I was relaxed too since I have stage fright because I don't know how to walk as a real model. I like the collection since it is relaxed and suitable to be worn every day. Those are the thing I like to wear in my private life.

Being promoter of Avanguardia it is quite logic that they are my choice and I can only praise them. I think models did their best to create a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. As for the models they are joyful, multicolored just as the fashion show itself which was great. I only think that audience could be a bit more relaxed.

As in every other world metropole Belgrade also has some multibrand shops as well. One of the best is Avanguardia which was proved by tonight's fashion show. This collection I wear during Fashion Week Chronicle TV show, mostly items by Tommy Hilfiger, so that says enough about my choice. I think that models were great and that they had a great time working this fashion show. My only comment is concerned with audience – some interaction would be really fine.

I spent the winter in the USA and what we saw here is casual look that young people are devoted to there. I liked that everything was in a casual manner, that everyone can make a combination for himself/herself and I think that young people here should finally relax and look free and the way they really want. With this collection they certainly can do that .
About Ateks exhibition

I am glad we are present at Fashion Week because we follow fashion trends. We have exhibited the Spaces program which is program for young people. We also have program dedicated to businessmen and businesswomen and models for bit older and mature persons. So, we have to offer something to everyone. The colors are bright just in accordance to world trends. We are satisfied by this appearance and with the reactions of numerous audience. Many think that Ateks has disappeared from our fashion scene, but as you can see, we conquer the fashion world in big style.
